Pied Piper: "Of Gremlins and Ratcatchers" Part 2

Saturday (Febuary 18) found Rob and Mr.Coon sleeping under Said's bed. Rob was still puzzling out Kevin's message. He'd managed to figure out that the perimeter fence was magically 'live'. Mr. Coon discovered a convenient set of duct work that opened into the hallway and each room. While Mr.Coon investigated the duct work Rob and Said identified where power and communications entered the complex.

Mr. Coon soon found out why the vents were so convient... it turned out that the real spying was being done by gremlins not by the electronic bugs. The entire complex was connected by gremlin highways under the flooring. His suspicions were confirmed when he stumbled into a gremlin nest complete with a green baby gremlin playing with a PDA. Coon tried to take the PDA away from the little ball of fluff and played with it a bit. The wee furball took a shining to him and latched onto his tail when he went to leave. Coon couldn't get him dislodged so the little girl got dragged along on his travels. After overhearing an exchange between D'Ange, Reed and D'Ange's secretary he managed to bug Dr. Reed's lab and made a disturbing discovery. One of the cabinets was filled with small fey preserved in formaldahyde. He was busy taking pictures when an adult gremlin found the pair. The baby warned him away from Her Coon. They escaped through the tunnels. When Coon discussed the furry difficulty with the rest of the team they learned that one of the gremlin's skills was mimicry. Rob suggested a blender might fix things. Coon objected as he was becoming fond of the affectionate fuzzball. During his next foray Coon managed to bug the office of D'Ange's secretary. It was a close call and Coon was forced to escape by using an illusion to disguise himself as a gremlin.

Meanwhile D'Ange was sending repeated invitations to Said via her secretary. Said was encouraged to set up a meeting with D'Ange over an important matter. Said delecately declined and made excuses. This spooks Rob and Said and the trio (plus gremlin) decide to leave Nowhere immediately. Max, Rob and the gremlin wait in Gambo until Monday (Febuary 20). Said returns to Nowhere where he starts to exhibit flu symptoms and magical fatigue. Max spends his time testing the gremlin while Rob cases the reporters. Kevin remained in Nowhere.

Late Sunday Rob is summoned to a hotel room where Lee is waiting... naked. Intense, focused and disturbing Lee explains to Rob that someone has been messing with the Ley lines and that it wasn't D'Ange. He explains that there is a god here and this seems to make him even more angry. He reassures Rob that he has dealt with the god but insists that this new development means that D'Ange must be killed. Unfortuneatly, he speculates that this may already be impossible. When Rob questions some of Lee's statements Lee turns on him saying that he (Lee) was born in 1842 but only returned to the surface 20 years ago. Rob isn't sure what to make of this. Lee mentions Ireland, the Irish hills and how 'they' will kill everyone. Lee is clearly unhinged in a very scary way. Lee informs Rob that he will go with them to Nowhere. Rob is dismissed. Rob sends an info packet and instructions for Sean to his uncle after he returns to his room. He tells Max and Said a bit of what Lee said but leaves out the death to D'Ange part.
